Concord, NH – New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute’s 9th Annual Budget and Policy Conference, with over 450 registrants, brought in a record number of attendees, including New Hampshire legislators, state department officials, community and business leaders, journalists, and concerned citizens. The event was held in Concord on December 6 at the Grappone Conference Center and served as a deep dive into the composition of the New Hampshire State Budget and how it’s funded as well as the interconnected issues of housing, child care, economic security, public education, health, demographics, and the workforce.
Event presenters included NH DHHS Commissioner Lori Weaver, NH DOE School Finance Bureau Administrator Mark Manganiello, NH Housing Manager of Community Engagement & Education Sarah Wrightsman, UNH Carsey School Research Assistant Professor Jess Carson, and NHFPI Staff.
“NHFPI views this gathering of decision-makers and concerned residents as a vital part of our mission,” says Gene Martin, NHFPI Executive Director. “We are excited to offer critical analysis and data to the public—from the bipartisan lawmakers who rely on our insights to make informed policy choices, to the working parents struggling to afford child care. Our goal is to provide the facts necessary so that public policy can benefit all residents of New Hampshire.”
