Over 7,700 Eligible Children Were Not Claimed for the CTC in NH for 2019

Prior to the pandemic and temporary credit expansions, filers representing an estimated 7,745 New Hampshire children who were likely eligible for Child Tax Credit (CTC) did not claim the credit in tax year 2019, according to data published by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. The CTC provides tax relief to filers with qualifying children, and CTC refunds support families and the economy. Temporary expansions from the American Rescue Plan Act added significantly more in refundable tax relief for 2021.
