Data collected by the U.S. Census Bureau’s Household Pulse Survey provide estimates related to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on Granite Staters. When adults were surveyed over the period lasting from January 6, 2021 to January 18, 2021, about half indicated that their household experienced at least a little difficulty in affording usual household expenses in the last seven days. About a quarter of New Hampshire households indicated it was somewhat or very difficult to afford their usual household expenses. Examples of these expenses include food, rent or mortgage, car payments, student loans, and medical expenses.
