Nearly Half of New Hampshire Renters are Cost-burdened by Housing

Households paying more than 30 percent of their income on housing are consideredcost-burdenedand may have difficulty covering other general expenses, such as food, clothing, transportation, or medical costs. In New Hampshire, the most recent estimates show that nearly half of all renter households in the state were paying more than 30 percent of their income on rent and utilities in 2022.
