NHFPI Welcomes Karen Emis-Williams to Board of Directors

CONCORD, NHThe New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute (NHFPI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Emis-Williams, Director of Concord Human Services for the City of Concord, to its Board of Directors. With over two decades of experience in the social services field, Karen brings invaluable expertise and a deep commitment to improving the well-being of Granite Staters.

“The New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute plays a critical role in providing reliable, nonpartisan research that supports public policy solutions to address the challenges Granite Staters face,” said Karen Emis-Williams. “I am honored to join the NHFPI Board of Directors and contribute to the organization’s work promoting policies that foster economic security for all.”

At Concord Human Services, Karen oversees the city’s efforts to provide interim, emergency assistance to individuals and families in need. Before joining Concord Human Services in 2016, Karen served as Acting Deputy Manager at Nashua City Welfare, further expanding her expertise in supporting communities across the state. Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rivier University in Nashua.

“Karen’s extensive experience in social services and her dedication to addressing the needs of New Hampshire families make her an excellent addition to NHFPI’s Board of Directors,” said Gene Martin, NHFPI Executive Director. “Her insight and leadership will strengthen NHFPI’s ability to examine and inform policies that improve the economic security of Granite Staters, particularly low- and moderate-income families.”
