NHFPI Announces Additions and Promotions to Research Staff

CONCORD, NH – The New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute (NHFPI) is pleased to announce the addition of Bobby Koolis as a Policy Analyst and the promotion of Phil Sletten to Research Director. NHFPI’s continued growth and expansion are exciting developments that will help the organization increase its impact in New Hampshire’s public policy landscape.

Bobby Koolis, Policy Analyst

Bobby holds a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of New Hampshire’s Carsey School of Public Policy, and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Keene State College. At Carsey, Bobby’s studies focused on healthcare, economic, and mental health policy. His Capstone Project analyzed the devastating impacts of the opioid epidemic throughout New England and potential policy solutions. Following graduation from Carsey, Bobby served as a Fellow at the Oklahoma Policy Institute, where he researched and synthesized policy issues related to mental health in the state. Prior to joining NHFPI, Bobby served as a Care Coordinator for Connected Families NH. In this role, Bobby bridged families in need of support to local resources and services, and engaged community partners in providing comprehensive care strategies.

Phil Sletten, Research Director

Phil Sletten has served as NHFPI’s lead policy analyst since joining the organization in 2016. In his new role as Research Director, Phil will be managing NHFPI’s research and analysis of the state budget, state revenues, the economy, and the economic security of Granite Staters, with a focus on residents with low- and moderate-incomes. He will oversee analytical projects, supervise research internship program efforts, and help ensure all publications meet NHFPI’s high standards for quality and precision. Phil will also work to support the organization’s ongoing growth in this capacity. He will continue to write, analyze, present, and engage with the public, and continue to help ensure that discussions of public policy in New Hampshire are informed by reliable, accurate, and trusted data and information.
