CONCORD, NH – The New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute announces the addition of Victoria Adewumi of Hooksett to the organization’s Board of Directors. Adewumi currently serves as a community liaison for the Manchester Health Department.

“Victoria brings important insights regarding the challenges facing individuals and families living in Manchester, which is the state’s most populous community and has approximately 16,000 residents living in poverty,” said John Shea, executive director of the New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute (NHFPI). “Victoria’s experience helping families to improve health outcomes and economic security will be invaluable to NHFPI’s work to foster a deeper understanding of the need for proactive public policy solutions and strategic investments that can help all New Hampshire residents achieve their potential.”

As community liaison for the Manchester Health Department, Adewumi serves as a core staff member of the Manchester Community School Project, which is transforming elementary schools into neighborhood hubs for linking residents to service agencies and other community resources while working to reduce social isolation in community school neighborhoods. In this role, she also works to create programs that empower families with the skills and knowledge to be better able to participate fully in their community.

Adewumi is a graduate of the Endowment for Health’s Equity Leaders Fellowship program, and she served as a fellow to NHFPI’s Board of Directors during 2016. She currently serves as a board member for the Diversity Workforce Coalition and New American Africans, and is a member of the Endowment’s Health and Equity Partnership Steering Committee. Adewumi received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in political science and international relations from the University of New Hampshire.
